An organization is a kind of social entity that is made up of a group of people, working together to achieve a common goal. The employees are the most important asset for any firm or organization, as without employees firms and organization will be reduced to nothing more than just a name. A group of employees will not only form an organization, but they are the ones who give the organization a certain competitive advantage.

Higher tier employees like managers all the way down to the humbler ones such as foremen are what allows companies to have a great competitive advantage over other organizations. They contribute all their skills, speed, efficiency, behavior, capabilities and etc to help an organization execute any strategy required to move forward. This is why organizations need to treat employees better and to retain them as they are what allows the company to move on forward and achieve goals.

A company, organization, or firm’s ability to retain or keep its employees is what’s called Employee retention. Employee retention requires certain strategies to follow. This means, companies need good plans and policies in order to keep their employees. So in order for an organization to be able to keep its employees, it’s good to know why they would want to leave in the first place.

Reasons why an employee might want to leave:

Salary -A very obvious reason as to why someone would want to get out of an organization or firm is money. The main reason why somebody would want to work is money. People work jobs to get money and this is why an employee would want to get out of an organization in favor of another one with better pay or if they feel like they are working to much for so little.

Lacking Motivation: Motivation is what drives and encourages employees to work hard to achieve targeted goals. Motivation is the main driving force thus it’s only proper that employees get motivated from time to time be it through monetary means or not. The fervor to work hard is very important. And what better way to provide that than motivation.

Poor Management: Management is very important when it comes to employee retention Poor or improper management is another factor as to why an employee might want to leave. Managers don’t have to always be strict and stern towards their employees at all times, there are some situations where politeness is best suited. Good balance is what’s recommended, managers also need to hear the voice of the employees and help them with the proper solution.

These are just common reasons as to why employees, there are other personal reasons as to why an employee might want to leave and go about looking for another job.

Retaining employees is hard, but its 3 times as expensive to have them replaced so it’s better to keep them.
